RESEARCH INTERESTS
My areas of interest are key topics in cardiac care, including the transition between care settings, secondary prevention, and the role of nurses in leading models of care. I am particularly interested in how we can deliver person-centred care for individuals with coronary artery diseases, improving their quality of life and supporting smoother transitions from hospital to home.
I am also enthusiastic about exploring ethical issues that affect both patients and healthcare workers, such as compassion fatigue and moral distress. It will be interesting to investigate how these ethical challenges impact both the well-being of healthcare professionals and the quality of patient care, with the goal of developing system support strategies, enhance work-life balance, and ultimately improve patient outcomes.
Another area of interest is supporting internationally qualified nurses in their transition to the Australian health care system. We currently have a study exploring the motivations and experiences of Filipino internationally qualified nurses in pursuing advanced education and leadership roles.
