BIO
I am passionate about improving child nutrition by tackling the double burden of malnutrition. This led me to focus my PhD project on examining the nutrient content, nutrition and health claims, and promotion of packaged foods targeted to children and their caregivers in Nepal, as well as identifying policy opportunities to address marketing of unhealthy packaged food products to this target group.
In my prior role as a researcher, at Helen Keller International, I contributed to generating evidence around child feeding and nutrition. Translating this evidence into action, I further contributed to development of a national standard for commercial cereal-based complementary foods and implementation of national legislation on Breast-milk Substitutes in Nepal. These experiences have strengthened my conviction in the power of evidence, collaboration, and engagement with key influencers.
