BIO
Sanowar Hossain is a graduate researcher at the School of Life and Environmental Sciences, Deakin University from February 2023. His research focuses on investigating bioactive compounds, nutritional benefits, and industrial potential of Australian Acacia dealbata, as well as development of method for the optimum extraction of bioactive compounds based on LC-MS based metabolomics. Sanowar's research project is funded by Australian Research Council through Deakin University and the ARC Centre for Facilitated Advancement of Australia's Bioactives (FAAB). Before joining this position at Deakin University, Sanowar completed his Bachelor and Master of Pharmacy from the Department of Pharmacy, University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh and have been registered as an 'A' grade pharmacist under Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh. Sanowar initially started his career as a Product Executive in a leading pharmaceutical company in Bangladesh. Later, in 2015 he took the position of university lecturer in Bangladesh and was promoted to assistant professor in 2021. He has research experience on phytopharmacology, analytical chemistry, and chemical biology. With the full-time role as a graduate researcher, Sanowar has been working as a casual academic staff at Deakin University since 2023.
