BIO
Dr Ayushi Priyam is a research fellow in nanomedicine and translational bionanomaterials. Her work focuses on engineering nanostructured drug delivery systems, hydrogel‑based localised therapeutic platforms and biologically safe advanced biomaterials to improve outcomes in infection, inflammation and complex disease microenvironments. She brings cross‑disciplinary training in biotechnology, nanotoxicology and environmental science, enabling her to connect fundamental nano‑bio interface science with real‑world clinical and environmental applications.
Her research‑only collaborations with Seasol Pty Ltd. and Provico Pty Ltd., together with co‑lead roles in multi‑year contract research with Barwon Water, embed her work in industry‑relevant challenges spanning antimicrobial management, environmental safety, nutrient delivery and circular‑economy solutions. At Deakin, she supervises a multidisciplinary cohort of HDR and Honours/Master’s students and research assistants, advancing the next generation of researchers at the interface of nanotechnology, biomaterials and translational science.
