BIO

Sarah Paddle specialises in women’s history, with a special focus on women’s relations with China. Her articles and chapters about nineteenth and twentieth-century British and Australian women’s history have appeared in the Journal of Colonialism and Colonial History, Women’s History Review, Australian Feminist Studies, Itinerario, Lilith, and Critical Studies in Education, and in books published by the China Social Sciences Press, Beijing University Press and Anhui University Press.
Sarah previously held the role of Associate Dean, Teaching and Learning within the Faculty of Arts and Education. She played a national role in the leadership of teaching and learning, especially in the Arts and Humanities. Over ten years, she generated funding for the Faculty portfolio from internal and external grants totalling $2,924 million.
Prior to taking on that role, Sarah taught History and Australian Studies at Deakin. Educated at Monash University and the University of London, in both History and Education, Sarah has also worked in short term appointments in China and Japan.
