BIO
Researcher with a vision to create smart and sustainable materials and integrate them for real-time applications in products. Currently, working on plastic recycling approaches using thermomechanical processes focussing on polyolefin waste and investigating ionic liquids as catalysts and solvents for depolymerization.
Previous experience: MLP extrusion, formwork boards from waste MLP, graphene production from eco-friendly sources, sustainable synthesis of thermoelectric materials, and nano photocatalyst development.
Worked for 6 months in a startup that made recycled plastic boards. Identified advancements in the plastic recycling industry - process, methodologies, tools, end products, scale of operation, mechanical, chemical, biological, and solvent-based approaches, and segregation techniques, improved performance of recycled plastic boards made from waste MLP by using synthetic reinforcements and fillers.
Worked for 1.5 years in graphene production from sustainable sources like biomass (lignin, bio oil, black liquor). Prepared graphene polymer heterostructures for packaging and battery applications and contributed to the planning of the upscale of the production of graphene to pilot-scale.
10 years of experience working in a laboratory environment. Well-versed in chemical synthesis routes of nanomaterials, deposition methods, characterization techniques like UV-vis and PL spectroscopy, SEM microscopy, FTIR, XRD, TGA, DSC, analytical analysis, design of experiments, nano chemistry, and plastic waste management.
