The SCANNER team at Deakin University has been named a finalist in the 2025–26 Research Australia Health and Medical Research Awards, a prestigious national recognition spanning Australia's entire health and medical research sector. The team is a finalist in the Frontiers Award, which recognises research breaking new ground in how health challenges are understood and addressed. SCANNER uses artificial intelligence to automatically detect harmful marketing, such as alcohol and unhealthy food advertising, across digital platforms, generating evidence to inform public health policy.
