BIO

Vipul Gupta is an ARC Discovery Early Career Research (DECRA) Fellow and Lecturer in the School of Life and Environmental Sciences. His research is focused on 3D printing, advanced metamaterials, microfluidics, and analytical chemistry. In addition to research and teaching, he also enjoys the role of an entrepreneur (co-founder of 3DMADe, 3dmade.com.au) and a book author (lead author of 3D Printing in Chemical Sciences).

He completed his B.Pharm from the University of Delhi (India), M.S from Brigham Young University (U.S.A), and PhD from the UTAS. He received the 2020 ARC DECRA Fellowship, the 2015 Australian Academy of Science SIEF Fellowship, and the 2012 Brigham Young University Roland K. Robins Fellowship.

The significance and impact of his work has been recognised through multiple distinguished awards and honours, including the Tasmanian STEM Early Career Researcher of the Year Award, Vice-Chancellor’s Early Career Researcher Award, The Royal Society of Tasmania Peter Smith Medal, his selection as one of the top 13 young researchers in Australia by the Australian Academy of Science, Faculty of Science, Engineering, and Technology Dean’s Award, and one of the 600 young researchers internationally by the Lindau Noble Laureate Council to attend the Lindau Noble Laureate Meeting. He was also invited as one of the 200 young leaders and thinkers of Australia to present his work at a socio-economic conference (Junket) by the Junkee media group.
