MrSouvik Mukherjee

Dr Mukherjee brings extensive experience across legal academia, research, and industry, with a growing focus on technology law. Beginning his career as an advocate, he spent over five years representing a diverse range of clients from corporate entities to individuals, before various courts in India, particularly the Delhi High Court. He also advised multinational corporations on complex issues in international trade and investment law.

Transitioning to academia, Dr. Mukherjee has held notable positions, including Research Associate at the Centre for Regulatory Studies, Governance and Public Policy at the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, and faculty roles at institutions such as St. Xavier’s University, Amity Law School (Amity University, Kolkata), and Govind Ram Kare College of Law (affiliated with Goa University).

His expertise spans international and investment law, complemented by a strong specialisation in technology law and the legal challenges arising from rapid digital transformation. Dr Mukherjee’s research explores critical intersections between law, society, emerging technologies, and governance. He has made significant contributions to scholarship through numerous research papers and book chapters published by leading international publishers, which are indexed in prestigious journals such as Scopus and WoS.

Dr Mukherjee earned his LL.B. from the University of Delhi, LL.M. from the South Asian University, and PhD in Law from the National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata. Currently, he is a DUPRS HDR Scholar at the School of Information Technology, Deakin University, Australia, where his work focuses on technology, society, law and its global implications.
