BIO
Navneet Singh is a PhD Candidate in Quantum Machine Learning at Deakin University, supported by the Deakin University Postgraduate Research Scholarship. He works on several quantum research projects within Dr Shiva’s Quantum Research Team, with a strong focus on quantum computing, quantum machine learning and their real-world applications. Navneet is driven by curiosity about how quantum technologies can solve challenging problems in science and industry, and he enjoys exploring new ideas at the interface of theory and practice.
Navneet completed his Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering (2014–2018) at Beant College of Engineering and Technology, affiliated with Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, Punjab, India. During his bachelor’s studies, he was part of the team that won the prestigious Smart India Hackathon 2017 (First Prize). He went on to earn a Master’s degree in Information, Communication and Electronics Engineering from the Catholic University of Korea (2019–2021), where he received the Young Researcher Scholarship in recognition of his academic potential and research achievements.
Navneet is heavily involved in both the research and training of quantum programming, contributing to workshops, tutorials and student supervision/mentoring in this area. His broader research interests span quantum computing, quantum machine learning, machine learning, indoor localisation, blockchain and the Internet of Things. He is particularly interested in equipping the next generation of researchers and practitioners with practical skills in quantum technologies.
Curious, collaborative and open to new perspectives, Navneet actively seeks opportunities to work with academic, industry and community partners. He welcomes collaborative projects, discussions and innovative ideas related to quantum computing, quantum machine learning and their interdisciplinary applications.
