BIO

I am an energy and environmental economist and an Associate Professor of Economics at Deakin Business School.

I use data and a behavioural economics lens to study the decision-making of individuals - for example, to understand when people adopt green technologies and how they influence their neighbours. I collaborate with energy and technology companies and engage with community organisations, governments, and industry bodies to understand and change behaviour.

I received my PhD from the University of Melbourne in 2017 and have held positions at the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Queensland, the State Government of Victoria, and the United Nations. I am also a Westpac Fellow and an affiliate of CESifo.

I have published in top international economics and general science journals including the Review of Economics and Statistics and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. My research has been featured in Australian and international media including Freakonomics Radio, New Scientist, ABC radio and online, The Brisbane Times, and The Age. I have been published in the Conversation and interviewed on Faculti and on other research translation platforms.
