BIO

I am interested in how people develop, deliver, access and use evidence-based information to understand and operate in the world around them and to effect change – individually, at a community level, across organisations and industries, and at a policy level. My work has ranged from informing climate change policy through to supporting individual health decisions.

My current area of work is understanding how we can effect change for better health outcomes in regional, rural and remote areas, and among target population groups; in particular, drawing on health literacy, implementation science, behaviour change, social marketing, health communication, health education and health promotion.

Ultimately, I hope to be able to maximise the utility of existing research, information and services, as well as make original research contributions, to help people avoid significant health issues and to support people when these issues can’t be avoided.
