BIO
Lara Watts (she/her) is a PhD candidate at Deakin University, within the School of Medicine and the Institute for Mental and Physical Health and Clinical Translation (IMPACT). Her research aims to investigate the physical health and lifestyle behaviours of people with psychosis living in rural areas. Specifically, she is interested in exploring the impact of compounding rurality and severe mental illness, and elucidating the complex interrelationships between health, health systems, and context in rural communities that promote health inequities for this vulnerable population. Lara's research is currently supported by an Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship.
