BIO
Oscar Xavier Kee is a graduate researcher with the Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation and the Faculty of Arts and Education (School of Humanities and Social Sciences). He believes strongly in human rights and egalitarianism, and puts his beliefs to action through his research work with Dekain University and volunteering.
Oscar's research project seeks to contibute meaningfully to the operation of future truth commissions in Australia by going to those involved with operating truth commissions and learning from experience. This research sits in the intersectional space between criminology and politics. Oscar's research project is supported by the Australian Government's competitive Research Training Program (stipend) grant, and he is therefore legally required to acknowledge the support of the Australian Government in any publications related to the project. Outside of research, Oscar co-manages a student-led volunteer program that provides low/no-cost tutoring to final year high school students that are facing educational advantage.
Oscar Kee was the Winner and People's Choice for the Faculty of Arts and Education's 3-Minute Thesis (2025), and a Finalist in Deakin University's 3-Minute Thesis (2025).
