BIO
Dr. John Long Long originally trained in physics at the University Of Michigan (Flint) and in materials science at the AC Spark Plug Division of General Motors Corporation. In 1995 he completed a PhD in physics at Monash University in Melbourne. Since 1995 he has been a lecturer at Deakin University, teaching physics, materials, and electronics. He is an expert in distance and online learning, and has a 2016 Effective-Practice Award from the Online Learning Consortium in the USA. He is co-editor in-chief of the International Journal on Innovations in Online Education. He is also a contributor to the new Australia/New Zealand editions of Halliday's Fundamentals of Physics and Callister's Materials Science and Engineering. His research interests include materials science and analysis; science education, and engineering education.
