BIO

Samantha Lilly (Sam) is a primarily qualitative researcher with a strong focus on participatory research methods, particularly co-design initiatives with under-represented communities, including those with disabilities. Her research is deeply centered on understanding the complex drivers of weight gain and obesity among individuals with intellectual disabilities. Through her work, Sam explores how relationships and loneliness influence dietary and physical activity choices, highlighting the unique challenges faced by this group. By engaging with these communities directly, her research seeks to uncover meaningful insights and mechanisms that can guide more inclusive and effective health interventions.

Sam is a member of the Institute for Health Transformation (IHT) and the Global Centre for Preventative Health and Nutrition (GLOBE).
