BIO

Dr Cynthia Raffe is an experienced Lecturer having delivered over 26 units, spanning four Australian universities, and across all TEQSA levels and modes of study; this includes being a unit coordinator and leading other staff in subject delivery, designing and implementing new units, as well as effectively co-designing and co-teaching with senior academic staff. Cynthia also has extensive experience working with Primary and Secondary Schools across metro and regional Victoria and New South Wales and holds a VIT and NESA teaching license. Cynthia has won teaching awards for student satisfaction and learning impact. 

Cynthia has also been awarded a Research Output Award from the University of New South Wales for the impact of her research on the teaching community. Her main interests lie in employing educational psychology methods to extend learner motivation, educational assessment and data-driven decision making. Equally, she has been active in publishing articles at international high ranked journals, presented at local and international conferences, and co-wrote and published three policy documents funded by the Federal Department of Education on the issue of attracting and retaining high-impact leaders to regional, rural and remote schools. These reports are currently being utilised to influence The Future Leaders and Teach for Australia Programs surrounding contextual factors and attributes of high-impact leaders. Cynthia also acts as a research supervisor for capstone students. 

Prior to Cynthia's transition to the field of educational science, she worked as a manager at IBM Australia and NAB, leading teams both on and off shore in professional development and business change management. Cynthia was in charge of collaborating and negotiating with diverse stakeholders and managed a AUD$1.8 million budgeting portfolio for staff hiring, training and development.
