BIO
Dr Anna Mlynek-Kalman, Ph.D., has taught K–12 and aural musicianship at Melbourne University. She founded Music Works Magic, the music school and educational resource centre in 1996, and as the director, continues to offer classes for babies, toddlers and children with their adults, together with a team of passionate teachers. An internationally invited presenter, she consults in early learning centres and schools, offering mentorship and training courses. She continues to collaborate with various researchers, locally and internationally in her quest to share her Contour Vocal Play Framework (CVPF) as she strives to introduce vocal process to create sustainable pedagogically based pathways for the development of music inclusivity and vocal agency for early childhood educators and children. She is a published author and composer. She is currently lecturing and involved in further research, working with students at Deakin University.
Anna was the recipient of a 2024 KMEIA prize for innovation in music education.
