BIO
Dr Amrit Ghimire is a transport engineering researcher specialising in traffic safety, road user behaviour, traffic management, and sustainable mobility. As a Deakin–Coventry Cotutelle Program candidate, he applied advanced analytical methods, simulation modelling, and data-driven approaches to investigate interactions within transport systems and identify factors influencing safety and efficiency. His work integrates civil engineering, computer vision, and machine learning to generate insights that support safer infrastructure design and evidence-based transport policy. Through this interdisciplinary approach, he aims to contribute to safer, more efficient, and equitable transport networks.
His research also bridges human factors and technology, exploring how driver and pedestrian behaviour interact with transport systems under varying conditions. In addition to research, he has contributed to supporting student learning and mentorship in transport and civil engineering topics, fostering analytical skills and practical understanding in applied research contexts.
