BIO

Mark Sheehan has almost 20 years of middle and senior management experience in
the private sector. Mark was appointed to the Board of the NSW Council of
Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) in 1997 and has subsequently
been a Board member, an Executive Committee member, Secretary (1998) and
Treasurer (1999) of PRIA( Victorian Branch). He was appointed inaugural Chair
of the PRIA's national education advisory committee (NEAC) in 2012. In 2009 he
was made a Fellow of the PRIA.He is also a Senior Associate of the Australian
Institute of Banking and Finance and an Associate Fellow of the Australian
Institute of Management. Mark holds a B.A. degree from Latrobe University, an
MBA from RMIT and a Master of Economics (Public Affairs) from The University
of Sydney. He commenced his PR career on a part time basis at IPR in the
earlier 1980s before moving into the publishing industry in 1984. He was
promoted to the position of Senior Publicist Film & Television for Penguin
Books in 1987. Mark has occupied a number of high profile positions in the
private sector including: Marketing & Development Manager (D.W.Thorpe
Publishers), National Publicity and Promotions Manager (Collins Dove
Publishers), Publications and Public Relations Manager (Australian Insurance
Institute), Director of Public Relations (Australian Institute of Banking and
Finance) and National Public Affairs Manager (Insurance Council of Australia).
