I enjoy working with young people and supporting them as they navigate change, uncertainty, and decisions about their future. With a background as a secondary school teacher and career development practitioner, I’ve focused on creating meaningful, evidence-informed ways to support young people’s education, transitions, and career development.

These days, I’m based at Deakin University in Geelong, Australia, where my research explores how young people in regional areas experience life after school and navigate complex education and employment pathways. My work sits at the intersection of youth sociology, education, and careers research, with a particular focus on identity, belonging, and aspirations.

I’m especially interested in how space, place, and time shape young people’s lived experiences and decision-making. My PhD examines how broader social and economic changes, including the lingering effects of the pandemic, influence young people’s pathways into education, training, and work in post-industrial Geelong, with a specific focus on how mobility, relationships, and community ties shape their opportunities.
