BIO
Md Imran Hossain is pursuing his PhD at the Institute for Frontier Materials (IFM), Deakin University, Geelong, Australia. His research is centred on pioneering advancements in Fibre Science and Technology, with a particular focus on developing innovative strategies to reduce microplastic shedding from textile materials. Through his work, Imran aims to address a critical environmental challenge by improving textile durability, enhancing fibre–matrix interactions, and designing more sustainable material systems.
Driven by a strong commitment to environmental responsibility and inspired by emerging challenges within the textile sector, Imran commenced his doctoral studies in 2024. His research seeks to deepen scientific understanding of fibre fragmentation mechanisms and contribute to the development of environmentally conscious textile technologies that minimise microplastic pollution.
