TEACHING EXPERTISE

Teaching

Anuradha brings over seven years of diverse teaching experience across undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her teaching philosophy centres on clarity, engagement, and inclusive learning, supported by a strong foundation in both in-person and online delivery.

Anuradha has contributed to teaching at Deakin University via units such as Introduction to Software Engineering, Software Requirements Analysis and Modelling, and Database Management. In these units, she has acted as the campus co-ordinator for online student cohorts.

At Monash University, Anuradha has taught a wide range of subjects, including Algorithms and Data Structures, Engineering Mobile Applications, Usability, Databases, IT Project Management, and Data and Society. She developed a reputation for making complex technical concepts accessible to students from diverse backgrounds. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she successfully transitioned to online teaching, enhancing her digital pedagogy and student engagement in virtual settings.

Previously, as an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Colombo, Anuradha was involved in teaching in Mobile Computing, Human-Computer Interaction, and IT Project Management. She also designed course materials, assessed student work, and contributed to curriculum development.

Her earlier experience as a Teaching Assistant further solidified her instructional skills through hands-on support in Systems Analysis and Design and Computer Graphics and Image Processing, along with public speaking engagements to promote research culture among undergraduates.

Supervision

Anuradha has a strong track record in student mentorship. She has supervised one PhD student to completion and is currently supervising three more PhD candidates. She has also supervised several master’s theses and numerous undergraduate honours research projects, fostering the next generation of inclusive technology researchers.
