BIO

Dr Daphne Cheung is a registered nurse in Australia and Hong Kong. Her key research focus is on gerontology, dementia care and carer support, frailty, and gerontechnology. She is particularly experienced in developing innovative interventions to address the needs of older adults and their carers, and evidence synthesis. Numerous distinguished international innovation awards and knowledge transfer awards were obtained, including the most prestigious awards like the Customer Electronic Show 2024 Innovation Award, the 2023 Claudia J. Beverly Innovation Award, and the Hong Kong ICT Smart People Smart Ageing Award 2022. 

 

In terms of nursing education, Daphne was awarded the Distinguished Educator of Gerontological Nursing by the National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence, USA. This reflected her educational leadership in the field internationally. Apart from lecturing, she has successfully supervised PhD students and honours students. She is a Fellow in Education & Research of the Hong Kong Academy of Nursing; an Advanced Practice Nurse (Education and Research in Nursing) by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong. She is a Board Member of the Hong Kong Alzheimer's Disease Association and the past Vice President of the Hong Kong Federation of Women Centres. She is an Associate Editor of JBI Evidence Implementation and Nursing Open.
