RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr Parker has published in peer-reviewed journals across a range of disciplines, including surgery, psychiatry, anaesthesia, perioperative medicine, and the history of medicine. His work has been cited in international guidelines, highlighting its influence in the field. His current major research interests include the historical exploration and analysis of pre-modern anaesthesia techniques and the Westernisation of medicine in Japan during the pre-Meiji era. For his history research papers presented at the International Symposium on the History of Anaesthesia 2025 held in Paris, he was awarded the 'Young Anaesthetist Historian Prize' by the Club d’Histoire de l’Anesthésie et de la Réanimation (CHAR – the French Society for the History of Anesthesia),
