BIO
A Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Norma's leadership in higher education has been recognised through University and national awards, including an Australian Award for University Teaching and Deakin University's Vice-Chancellor's Award for Outstanding Achievement in Teaching and Learning.
Norma's research focuses on the transition to parenthood, family wellbeing, and the ways in which health and community services support parents and families. She is also a confirmed PhD candidate, with doctoral research exploring parents' experiences of maternity care and health service quality. Her research has informed policy, professional practice, and service development, and has attracted widespread media interest. Her work has featured across national media, including ABC Radio, ABC Life Matters, and the Herald Sun.
