MrMani Thulasirangan Lakshmidevi

I am a Doctor of Philosophy (Engineering) researcher at Deakin University, specialising in the seismic performance of modular and prefabricated reinforced concrete systems. My research focuses on understanding the structural behaviour of precast elements and their connections under extreme loading conditions, with a particular emphasis on earthquake-resistant design.

I integrate advanced numerical modelling with experimental validation to evaluate the performance of innovative connection systems, including grouted splice sleeve couplers and embedded steel connections. I primarily use Abaqus for nonlinear finite element analysis, incorporating material nonlinearity and damage plasticity models to simulate realistic structural responses.

My work aims to enhance the safety, robustness, and constructability of modular construction systems, contributing to the development of efficient and resilient infrastructure. My broader interests lie in structural engineering, prefabrication technologies, and performance-based design approaches.
