BIO
Lenise Prater (she/they) teaches about and researches popular genres, Young Adult fiction, children's literature and gender studies. Her research develops queer feminist frameworks for analysing fantasy fictions, often to explore the representation of interpersonal harm and violence. Their research has been published in Australian Feminist Studies, Hecate and in the edited collections Young Adult Gothic fiction: monstrous selves/monstrous others (University of Wales Press) and Gender and sexuality in contemporary popular fantasy : beyond boy wizards and "kick-ass" chicks (Routledge).
