BIO

Ikka is a nursing academic and lecturer, specialising in evidence-based and socially responsive approaches to nursing education. She draws on more than a decade of clinical experience in Anaesthetic and Post-Anaesthetic Care to strengthen her teaching and support students in integrating theory with practice.

 

Ikka holds a Master of Nursing, a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing (Anaesthetics), and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Her professional background spans both hospital and university settings, reflecting a sustained commitment to nursing education and professional development. Her Master’s thesis examined nurse educators’ perceptions and experiences of the inclusion of gender diversity in the undergraduate nursing curriculum.

 

Her teaching and research interests focus on social justice, gender diversity, and intersectional feminism in nursing and healthcare. She is passionate about fostering inclusive learning environments and contributing to critical conversations that influence the future of the nursing profession.
