• Research subject:
o Loading of natural extract from betel leaf and their applications in food preservation
o The potential of biochar production for the treatment of agricultural byproducts in Vietnam
o Technologies for fabrication of nanocellulose and aerogel advanced material from agricultural byproducts
• Instructed a team of 5 undergraduate research students in analyzing biorefinery technologies for agricultural byproducts in terms of efficiency, techno-economic potential and product quality
• Performed analysis of material properties (SEM, XRD, DLS and zeta potential, etc.)
• Research subject:
o Development of bio-packaging withs nano-encapsulated bioactive compounds for functional properties
o Valorization of biomass into advanced material (i.e. nanocellulose, lignin, silica, biochar, pectin, etc.), techno-economic analysis and applications
• Projects:
o Development of a zero-waste nanocellulose production process (National University-level) – Investigator.
o Pilot production of fuel charcoal and activated carbon from durian shell (Collaboration with Loc Troi Group) – Investigator.
o Biochar for carbon removal and improved livelihoods (Partnership under DFAT BPP) – Research assistant.
• Worked under the supervision of Assoc Prof. Le Thi Kim Phung and led a team of 20 members to develop functional materials from biomass and their applications, mainly in the field of food preservation, environmental remediation and energy storage.
• In charge of laboratory safety training, guidelines development and enactment
• Managed and maintained more than 20 laboratory equipment (including UV-vis spectroscopy, combustion and pyrolysis equipment, centrifuge, etc.)
• Received training and operated different experimental equipment (freeze-dryer, spray dryer, high shear homogenizer, sonicating probe, planetary crusher, orbital shaker, etc.)
• Studied the technological processes, safety requirements and quality assurance of the plastic recycling plant.
• Conducted research on the current plastic recycling situation in Vietnam, including different social economic factors and government policies to provide recommendations for future development.
• Presented on the value chain of rice straw and rice husk in Vietnam agricultural waste treatment as part of the scientific exchange
• Visited and studied upon the research subject of Tokoro Lab in Waseda University, which revolves around the recycling of industrial waste by mechanical methods
• Visited and studied the technology of a solar panel recycling company
• Visited a scientific exhibition on the advanced recycling products of different businesses
