Their thesis project is a close reading literary anlaysis which investigates the representations of nonverbalism and non-speaking characters in young adult novels.

Their Honours thesis - Finding "Home": Trauma and Identity in Young Adult Dystopian Fiction - explored how trauma and setting in dystopian novels such as The Maze Runner series impacts the development of the character's identity and their sense of belonging.
