This unit connects theory to practice through a Professional Experience Placement in a kindergarten setting with children aged 3–5 years. 

 

ECE781 - Bioecological Perspectives of Child Development in the Early Years (Birth–Eight)

 

This unit develops advanced understanding of the multidimensional factors shaping human development from birth to early schooling (Birth to 8 years), including biological, ecological, socio-cultural, environmental, and experiential perspectives, as well as typical and atypical development.

 

ECE765 - Play Pedagogies Addressing Adversity and Trauma

 

This unit develops knowledge and skills to support children impacted by trauma and adversity through intentional play-based pedagogies.

 

ECE728 - Pedagogical Understandings of Teaching and Learning in the Early Childhood Contexts

 

This unit integrates a 40-day professional experience placement with advanced study of research, policy, and curriculum in early childhood education, supporting the development of graduate teacher capabilities in the Australian context. 

 

ECE735 - Childrens Ecological Positioning Seeing Children in Family and Community Contexts

 

This unit examines the ecological positioning of children within families, communities, and society, with a focus on partnerships, transitions, and culturally responsive pedagogies that support equitable learning opportunities.
