BIO

Urooj Khan is a PhD candidate at the Global Centre for Preventive Health and Nutrition (GLOBE) at Deakin University. Her research focuses on scaling up healthy food retail initiatives in public settings, such as kiosks and restaurants, by developing a digital tool and exploring practical, policy-driven strategies to improve access to nutritious food.

 

Urooj holds a Master’s degree in Food and Nutrition and brings a blend of academic, research, and industry experience. She previously served as Program Leader of the Food Science department and as a lecturer in Human Nutrition and Dietetics at in Pakistan. She has also worked with large food companies, including Nestlé and PepsiCo, and has been involved in projects related to the nutritional assessment of pregnant women in Sargodha, Pakistan. Her work reflects a strong commitment to advancing population nutrition through evidence-based interventions.
