BIO
Favour Agbajor is a doctoral researcher at the School of Architecture and Built Environment, Deakin University. His current research focuses on the integration of radiative cooling and solar photovoltaics for zero-carbon buildings. He holds a BSc degree (First Class Honors) in Building from the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Nigeria, and a Masters degree (Distinction) from Durban University of Technology (DUT), South Africa. Besides, he served as a research and teaching assistant at DUT and the University of Cross River, Calabar, Nigeria. Prior to this, he worked in the industry and was involved in the construction of residential housing units, healthcare facilities, industrial warehouses, and duct engineering services, and later became a Certified Construction Product Lifecycle Assessment Specialist.
Mr. Agbajor has experience in building energy modelling, structural engineering design, construction planning and scheduling, climate modelling, etc. His interdisciplinary research revolves around building energy efficiency, green building, carbon neutrality, integrated energy systems, sustainable cooling, construction informatics, and urban climate. He has published over 10 papers in prominent peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. Also, he actively reviews for peer-reviewed journals, including Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Energy Reports, and Heliyon.
Mr. Agbajor is a recipient of several awards and prizes, including the Eni Award – Young Talents from Africa Prize (2024), Dean’s Merit Award for Academic Excellence (DUT), Gold Award for being the top Masters student in DUT (2023), DUT Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme (2021), the Shell Petroleum Development Company Joint Venture (SPDC JV) University National Merit Award (2016), among others. He is a member of the International Association of Engineers (IAENG), the International Association of Electrical, Electronic, and Energy Engineering (IAEEEE), the International Society for Energy and Built Environment (ISEBE), and the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB).
