BIO
I am a Cotutelle PhD candidate at Deakin University and Ghent University (Belgium). My research explores the challenges of implementing cycling transport infrastructure in Melbourne, Australia, with a particular focus on efforts to reallocate road space for cycling. I investigate how policy, political networks, and the media influence decision-making around cycling infrastructure. Using a mixed-methods approach, I combine policy analysis, policy network analysis, and qualitative interviews to understand how governments, advocacy groups, businesses, and communities shape cycling infrastructure decisions. My work sits at the intersection of public health, sustainability, and urban planning, with the aim of generating evidence-based recommendations to improve the translation of cycling transport research into policy and practice, ultimately supporting healthier, more sustainable, and more liveable cities in Australia.
