Nidya is a graduate researcher at Deakin University’s Faculty of Business and Law, and researcher with Indonesia’s National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). Her work sits at the intersection of behaviour and sustainability policy — figuring out how people actually behave, and how systems can shift that behaviour toward better environmental outcomes.

Current projects range from reusable bag use in minimarkets and circular economy implementation in aquaculture, to AI overconsumption and community waste initiatives like waste banks.

She is currently developing research on choice architecture interventions to promote reusable bag use in minimarkets. This builds on her broader interest in habit disruption and behavioural change, particularly in everyday consumer contexts such as traditional markets. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management from Universitas Gadjah Mada and a Master of Business from the University of Queensland.

She is especially drawn to research that connects behavioural insight with ethical, scalable solutions, work that challenges assumptions, respects context, and supports inclusive sustainability transitions.
