BIO

Ngaire brings 13 years of industry experience to the teaching team, with clinical and leadership roles supporting children and families experiencing communication and swallowing difficulties across community health and early intervention settings. Her experience draws on advanced clinical skills and a strong commitment to family-centred practice.

 

She currently balances a teaching role and clinical practice, reflecting her commitment to contributing to the development of future-ready speech pathology graduates and ensuring teaching remains grounded in current, evidence-based practice.

 

As Practice Education Coordinator, Ngaire brings a big-picture and collaborative approach to developing sustainable practice education partnerships. She is particularly interested in fostering mutually beneficial university–industry relationships that strengthen student learning opportunities while also addressing broader workforce challenges, including skills shortages and recruitment within local communities and services.

 

Alongside her clinical and academic experience, Ngaire is further developing her expertise in higher education teaching and learning through postgraduate study in education. She is passionate about motivating and inspiring students and creating engaging learning experiences that connect theory with meaningful clinical practice.
