DrPratap Devarapalli

Dr Pratap is an IP strategist with over a decade of specialized experience addressing the intellectual property and policy challenges posed by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum biotechnology, synthetic biology, and climate change. He is currently an Intellectual Property Manager at Deakin University and previously held academic, policy, and consulting roles at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, the School of Law at The University of Queensland, the Institute of Intellectual Property at the Japan Patent Office, the Government of Japan, and the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva. He is also an affiliate fellow with several prestigious Australian Research Council (ARC) Centres, including the ARC Centre of Excellence in Quantum Biotechnology, the ARC Centre of Excellence in Synthetic Biology, and the ARC Centre of Excellence for Plant Success in Nature and Agriculture, as well as the Centre for Law and Genetics at the University of Tasmania. Pratap holds a PhD from the University of Tasmania and a Master of Laws from Queensland University of Technology and the World Intellectual Property Organization, Geneva.
