RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests lie in the relatively new field of green criminology. Green criminology is an evolving set of narratives and perspectives concerned with environmental crime and harm, and responses to that harm. Its focus is on the degradation of nature by state and corporate power in the quest for profit. Victimisation and justice are core issues. My particular topics of interest are the environmental harms of the global cruise ship industry, as well as those of the Australian cotton industry, and examining strategies for driving systemic change within these powerful sectors.

I am currently an active participant in Deakin's Regenerating Futures Group, which focuses on action.
