BIO

Ben is an Associate Research Fellow at the Alfred Deakin Institute. He completed his PhD in 2025 at the Australian National University’s School of Sociology. His thesis explored the formation and operation of digital peer support services in Australian mental healthcare, and the ways in which these services were helping to reshape power, mental ill-health, peer expertise and the internet.

Ben is interested in critical mental health studies, governmentality, critical masculinity studies and the intersections of these areas. He is currently working on an Australian Research Council project examining pathways to participation within the manosphere.
