BIO

Dr Anneliese Spiteri-Staines is a Research Fellow in Mental Health Nursing within the Alfred–Deakin Partnership at Deakin University. Her research focuses on mental health workforce wellbeing, psychosocial hazards in healthcare settings, and the translation of research into clinical practice and policy.

 

Anneliese has expertise in mixed-methods research, evaluation design and partnership-based research. Her work spans mental health, family violence and health systems research, with a strong emphasis on improving safety, equity and outcomes within care environments. She has led and contributed to government-commissioned research, interdisciplinary collaborations and projects that have informed funding models, service frameworks and policy development.

 

Her current program of research centres on strengthening the mental health nursing workforce through evidence-informed approaches to psychosocial safety, wellbeing and organisational culture. She works closely with Alfred Health clinical partners to ensure research is practice-driven and produces meaningful, sustainable impact.

 

Anneliese has published in high-impact international journals and has extensive experience translating research findings into accessible outputs for clinical, government and community stakeholders. She is committed to research that improves both staff wellbeing and patient outcomes within complex health systems.
