BIO

Dr Hartelius brings over a decade of experience in the humanitarian sector, with recognised expertise in accountability, governance, and the political dimensions of evidence and decision-making. Her work interrogates power structures within humanitarian systems and advances decolonised, more equitable approaches to policy and practice.

 

Dr Hartelius' research explores how evidence and expertise are defined, whose knowledge counts, and how more inclusive, context-responsive models of evidence-based humanitarian action can be designed and applied. She has worked extensively across the Asia Pacific region, primarily within the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and is committed to research with clear practical relevance and impact.
