BIO

I am a joint doctoral researcher pursuing my PhD under the collaborative program between Deakin University and the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), based at CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CSIR-CFTRI), Mysuru,  India's premier institutions for food science and technology research. My doctoral work is currently being carried out at CSIR-CFTRI with Dr. Poornima Priyadarshini C G, where I am investigating the discovery and characterization of bioactive peptides and their potential application in the prevention and management of prediabetes.

My research draws on CFTRI's strong interdisciplinary foundation in food science, microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and computational biology to explore the mechanisms by which fermentation-derived bioactive peptides influence glucose homeostasis.  I employ advanced peptide purification and characterization techniques, in vitro and in vivo models, and in silico analyses to evaluate the biological activity of these peptides, with particular focus on DPP-IV inhibition, GLP-1 signalling, and modulation of the gut microbiome–gut–brain axis. Through my joint doctoral research, I aim to contribute to the development of functional foods and nutraceuticals that support the prevention of type 2 diabetes and promote long-term metabolic health.
