Associate ProfessorFiona McKay

Fiona is a dedicated, responsive, and creative educator in the Postgraduate Health Promotion and Public Health teaching team. She positions her teaching and learning within a critical pedagogical perspective and am strongly motivated by equity and social justice and research-led and informed teaching. Through a lens of critical pedagogy, she actively works with students encouraging and assisting them to develop positive learning habits, and to critically interrogate their own world and personal experiences in a way that allows them to be aware of the experiences of others. She is deeply committed to equity in my teaching, and strives to use a range of delivery modes and learning materials to promote access, to enhance teaching and learning, and to support students to meet their learning goals.
