DrDominic Chilvers

I am a social worker, researcher and academic with thirty years professional experience. My practice experience covers a range of fields of practice including intellectual disability, mental health, physical health, and community development in the UK and Aotearoa New Zealand. I have worked in staturtory and non-government settings and was Chief Executive of the Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers. I have been a social work academic since 2009 and was the Kaihautū Chair of the Council of Social Work Education Aotearoa New Zeland for almost six years. My research interests are focused on work-integrated learning, spirituality in professional practice, and parental mental illness. I favour collaborative research and am involved in several international research teams. I am currently the Discipline Lead for Social Work in the School of Health and Social Development.
