TEACHING EXPERTISE
I use a developmental approach in my teaching, meaning that I see my main role as helping students to identify and hone their own strengths during their time at Deakin. My approach is premised on there being a diverse cohort of learners, including those returning to study after time in the workforce or engaged in caring duties, whose different strengths and perspectives add immense value to the class. I use authentic forms of assessment and emphasise the acquisition of practical skills through internships and research-based learning, to give students a rewarding and enriching experience that facilitates their future aspirations.
