BIO
Prof Austin is recognised nationally and internationally for his work on the development, delivery, and evaluation of internet-based treatments for psychological disorders. He established (with Prof Britt Klein) Australia's first federally funded evidence-based online psychological assessment and treatment service: www.anxietyonline.org.au. He also leads a research group dedicated to examining clinical traumatic stress responses amongst parents of children with disabilities. He has been a Chief Investigator on multiple NHMRC, ARC, Rotary Mental Health Research Fund, beyond blue and Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing projects. He is a registered psychologist with extensive clinical experience in the areas of anxiety and mood disorders as well as Autism Spectrum Disorders. He supervises a number of fourth-year, master, and doctoral students.
