DrLauren Sheppard

I'm a researcher in health economics, with experience supporting national and international economic evaluation projects across diverse public health issues.

My research interests include women's health and safety, the value and cost-effectiveness of strategies that improve outcomes for women and families, and the long-term returns on investment in prevention. A key focus of my current reseach is on quantifying the economic, health, social, and intergenerational impacts of gendered violence to inform and strengthen policy responses in Australia.

My PhD research examined fiscal policy responses to family, domestic and sexual violence in Australia, the global evidence on cost-effective strategies to address gendered violence, and how economic evidence can be integrated with other evidence to strengthen effective action.

I'm a member of two interdisciplinary working groups that align closely with my research interests and commitment to collaborative research: the Deakin Network Against Gendered Violence, and the Health and Social Research Working Group, Centre for Sex and Gender Equity in Health and Medicine.
