BIO
I am a Registered Public Health Nutritionist (NSA) with a wealth of experience in public health nutrition and nutrition promotion and education
across a variety of sectors including government, not for profit, community health and academia. I have experience in statewide healthy eating policy development and implementation across Victorian settings including early childhood education and care, schools, workplaces, hospitals and health centres and sport and recreation centres. I am passionate about helping to create healthy eating environments to support good health for communities and populations, and about teaching and empowering students in this area.
Career highlights include:
* Working at Nutrition Australia and helping to establish the Healthy Eating Advisory Service to supporting food policy implementation across Victoria
* Working in the Victorian Department of Health Healthy Eating and Active Living team where I developed food and nutrition policy and provided guidance to ministers and departmental stakeholders
* Supporting a joint directive from the COAG Health Council and Meeting of Sport and Recreation Ministers to address childhood obesity through healthy eating in children's sport and recreation
* Undertaking a secondment to Sport and Recreation Victoria to integrate healthy eating policy into state wide sport and recreation initiatives
* Working in children's nutrition at the NPY Women's Council in Alice Springs, with families from remote Aboriginal communities to support children's growth and development
