BIO

Dr Thomas is a Lecturer of International Relations at Deakin. He specialises in Middle East politics and non-Western international relations theory, having taught everything from global governance policy to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Andrew frequently appears as an expert in media, discussing Middloe East politics on networks such as the BBC, SBS, France24 and Network 10. His new book, 'Iran and the West: a non-Western approach to foreign policy' examines Iran's encounters with the West by exploring often-overlooked non-Western perspectives. 

 

He graduated with a PhD from Monash in 2019, studying critical non-Western approaches to Iranian foreign policy.
